Oh sweet Tai, I have a few things I want to discuss with you! Nothings that awful, so stop looking like you won’t be going out over the weekend! It’ll be okay!
First, stop hesitating when you want to speak your mind! Your opinion counts. I promise, if you speak up, you’ll be heard-so TALK!
Love who you are! I know at this moment, fourteen seems so young…yet you feel old! You want to be validated so desperately! Hang in there, one day at a time. You’ve got much growing to do yet, little grasshopper! Be patient! I know, I know, easier said than done! Slow & steady, eyes on the goal! This journey will teach you so much!
Set goals higher for yourself! These self doubts of yours, really are your worst enemy! And listen to mom when she says,”you are your enviroment!” That woman knows what she is talking about (believe it or not!)!
Stay kind & optimistic, especially when the hard balls hit! You aren’t crazy, the world we exist in is! Keep those two traits front & center. They’ll serve you well through many of life’s trials and tribulations. As Bob Marley sang, “every little thing is gonna be alright.”
Read this part slow, then read it again. YOU ARE ENOUGH! You have so much to offer this world! Don’t ever underestimate your own worth. Oh, and don’t hang with people who don’t have goals and dreams, or an appreciation for this thing called life!
Lastly, slow down a wee bit to think through your actions-BEFORE you jump! Consider what MIGHT happen when you get on that motorcycle & mom sees you! Appreciate the times Daddy spends with you, he is so busy! Love up on the family, neighbors and friends around you. Life goes by so fast, my girl! SLIDE INTO THE FINAL INNING YELLING…”WOOOO WHOOOO, THAT WAS ONE HECK OF A RIDE!”
