GBE #4- Joining a blogging group!

In all honesty, I don’t remember exactly how I got into this group! It seems I got connected to Alicia somehow, and she led me to GBE! I didn’t know what a blog was, or how to even start!

What I can tell you is that it brought nothing but goodness to my life. I have dear friends in this little group, I care deeply about. I think that it’s AMAZING for over 20 years, dozens of us stayed connected!

What is truly lovely about the GBE, is the inclusion you see in this group. We have bona-fide novelists, professional bloggers, teachers, nurses, students, moms, grandparents & singles, a true modge podge of a group! And that’s totally good with everyone!

It’s so good to see these familiar names! And, I look forward to getting to know the newer ones, as well. Welcome back, old friend! May you bloom and grow for ever more.

GBE #3 From Me To You

Oh sweet Tai, I have a few things I want to discuss with you! Nothings that awful, so stop looking like you won’t be going out over the weekend! It’ll be okay!

First, stop hesitating when you want to speak your mind! Your opinion counts. I promise, if you speak up, you’ll be heard-so TALK!

Love who you are! I know at this moment, fourteen seems so young…yet you feel old! You want to be validated so desperately! Hang in there, one day at a time. You’ve got much growing to do yet, little grasshopper! Be patient! I know, I know, easier said than done! Slow & steady, eyes on the goal! This journey will teach you so much!

Set goals higher for yourself! These self doubts of yours, really are your worst enemy! And listen to mom when she says,”you are your enviroment!” That woman knows what she is talking about (believe it or not!)!

Stay kind & optimistic, especially when the hard balls hit! You aren’t crazy, the world we exist in is! Keep those two traits front & center. They’ll serve you well through many of life’s trials and tribulations. As Bob Marley sang, “every little thing is gonna be alright.”

Read this part slow, then read it again. YOU ARE ENOUGH! You have so much to offer this world! Don’t ever underestimate your own worth. Oh, and don’t hang with people who don’t have goals and dreams, or an appreciation for this thing called life!

Lastly, slow down a wee bit to think through your actions-BEFORE you jump! Consider what MIGHT happen when you get on that motorcycle & mom sees you! Appreciate the times Daddy spends with you, he is so busy! Love up on the family, neighbors and friends around you. Life goes by so fast, my girl! SLIDE INTO THE FINAL INNING YELLING…”WOOOO WHOOOO, THAT WAS ONE HECK OF A RIDE!”

GBE #2-TIME

Time seems to have accelerated on me, has it for you? Minutes turn onto hours, hours into days…then to months. Before you realize it, twenty years have past by!

In the early 60’s, local hospitals in smaller cities, weren’t equipped to handle birth defects. A baby with spina bifida, especially. I had my first surgery at 90 minutes old. My parents were told, “time was of the essence.”

Ten years passed, time carried on, and so did I! Life kept marching on…a marriage, a baby…school functions, working full time! BAM! My child turned 40 in July & I have 4 awesome grandkids! I have had THE TIME OF MY LIFE, these past 62 years! I’ve lived a blessed & joyful life!

Cherish your time here, all of you youngsters out there! Keep in mind, “lost time is never found again”- Ben Franklin. I believe Mr. Franklin was correct. Time is so precious! It seems it slips through our fingers like sand. Hold it close while making memories! You won’t regret the time it took to make them!

Loss- GBE Reincarnated Blog 1

Hello my old friends, it has been a few years since we’ve gathered. Many things have occurred in life since we last spoke.

Most of us experienced life changing events. Some joyful, while others, were as heartwrenching as they come. We’ve lost parents, grandparents, spouses, children, siblings, close friends & other family members. I have fresh tears as I finish up this blog, as we had to help our family’s 14 year old retriever, cross the rainbow bridge 💔. Bailee was here before my grandbabies!

Loss…no matter how you dice, toss or chop it up… hurts. We never know what tomorrow holds, my friends. Love with all you have, while you’re still here & able. Try not to judge, and please be kind to people you come across. Pops (Gary Smith) taught us all of these things and so much more! If you were lucky enough to be in his circle, you knew how his love wrapped around you & tucked you in safe! I’ll miss him so very much! I love that we can honor his memory here & in our hearts. Fly high & be free, Pops! We’ve got things covered here! I’ll see you again one day soon! Thank you for being such a huge part of my life, Pops! Til paths meet ❤️❤️❤️.
